Tips for introducing a new puppy to an older dog? πŸΆβ€οΈπŸ•

We're bringing home a new puppy soon, and I'm a bit nervous about how our senior dog will react. How can I make the introduction smooth and stress-free for both of them?

Hey! To make the intro smooth, let your older dog sniff the puppy from a safe distance and give them both plenty of treats and praise to make it a positive experience. Gradually let them get closer while keeping an eye on their body language and keep the first few interactions short and sweet! πŸ•βœ¨

Introducing a new puppy to an older dog can be such a fun challenge! 🐢Start with slow introductions and let them meet in neutral territory. Give plenty of positive reinforcement and keep things calm to avoid overwhelming the older dog. ✨ Patience and treats will go a long way in helping them become best buds! 🐾

Introduce them on neutral ground, like a park, to avoid territorial behavior and keep initial interactions calm and positive. Supervise their time together closely, giving both dogs plenty of attention and space to adjust at their own pace.

Introduce them on neutral ground and use treats and praise to reward calm behavior; your senior dog might just appreciate the new pup’s fresh energy! 🐢✨

Hello everyone! I think it’s good to give both dogs their own space, though supervised playtime can help them bond. 🐾❀️
