Introducing a New Puppy to an Older Dog? πŸΎπŸ‘΄

We're thinking of getting a puppy, but we already have an older dog. How can we make the introduction as smooth as possible for both of them? πŸ•β€πŸ¦ΊπŸ©

Meet new pup on neutral ground first! 😊 Park walk, see how they sniff it out. Slow & watch their body language. Have fun with the new fur baby! 🐾😍

When introducing a new pup to an older dog, I think gradual introductions are key. Though it might take time, letting them sniff and get used to each other's scents can help ease tensions.🐢

Let the older dog sniff the puppy on neutral ground first - park or friend's yard - before bringing the pup home. First impressions are important!

Introducing a new puppy to an older dog can be a paw-some experience! 🐾 Start with separate spaces and gradually introduce them on neutral ground. Supervised playtime and positive reinforcement for good behavior will help them bond. Before you know it, they'll be best buds!

I agree with Tusk,Let them sniff each other through a gate or a crate first. Gradual introductions work best.

Introduce them slowly and let the older dog be the boss, so the puppy knows who’s in charge and who’s just there for the fun!

Introduce a new puppy to an older dog gradually by allowing them to sniff and interact in a controlled environment, supervising their initial meetings, and providing the older dog with their own space and attention to ease the transition. πŸΎπŸ‘΄πŸ
