How to maintain a water softener system?

Hi! I just moved into a house with a water softener and I'm clueless about maintenance. Any advice or resources would be super helpful!

Check the salt level regularly and refill when needed. You can also search the model number online for the manufacturer's maintenance guide for more specific instructions!
